Welcome
to the Dakota Business Finance Web Site! We are here to serve the
capital finance needs of new and growing Small Businesses throughout
South Dakota. In partnership with the U.S. Small Business
Administration, Dakota Business Finance provides financing for a wide
range of businesses through the SBA 504 Loan Program. This program
provides fixed rate financing for the purchase of long-term assets such
as the purchase of land, purchase and construction of buildings,
renovate or remodel existing facilities, and/or purchase of long-term
machinery and equipment.
The 504 loan, or
debenture, is made in conjunction with the business owner's local
financial institution, which typically provides a first mortgage for up
to 50% of the project cost. Dakota Business Finance provides a
second mortgage for 30% to 40% of the project cost while the borrower
provides a 10% to 20% equity contribution. While this program does
not provide financing for working capital, inventory, and other related
business needs -- we can help to serve these needs through our sister
organization, the South Eastern Development Foundation (SEDF), and its
revolving loan fund. For more information on the SEDF Revolving
Loan Fund, please

Please feel free to
contact our office at anytime with questions about meeting your business
finance needs. We understand that to have a successful business,
you need to build more than relationships. We're here to help you
get started.
